From July 9 to 11, 2021, I had the pleasure of participating in the international education forum “Retreat to Better Strike” in the beautiful setting of Gamlitz, Austria. This intensive 30-hour program brought together educators, trainers, and activists committed to rethinking and reshaping the future of education and civic engagement.
Throughout the forum, we actively exchanged ideas, reflected on our practices, and collaboratively created workshops aimed at empowering communities through education. The retreat format offered a unique opportunity to pause, think critically, and return with renewed motivation and concrete strategies for change.
This experience reminded me of the importance of building transnational networks, listening to diverse perspectives, and continuously adapting our methods to meet the needs of learners in a rapidly changing world.
