Security 2030: An Era of Smart Technologies, Resilient Societies, Risks, and Challenges

I was pleased to have the opportunity to present my research, “Artificial intelligence in media migration discourse: Shaping the perception of irregular migrants and political responses. Rethinking European Security: New Challenges and Regional Perspectives.” The presentation provided an opportunity to discuss the changing information environment and challenges in European security, while contributing to broader discussions on emerging security challenges and regional perspectives. The conference was also a valuable space for academic exchange and networking, providing an opportunity to engage with researchers working on European security, migration, technology, and related contemporary challenges. The discussions opened possibilities for further comparative research, academic cooperation, and future collaborative activities. Beyond the presentation, the event created valuable opportunities for academic exchange and regional networking. I had valuable discussions with colleagues from Albania, Kosovo, Serbia, North Macedonia, and other countries, opening possibilities for comparative research, joint publications, and future project collaboration. It was equally valuable to meet both new and old friends and colleagues, including Ilona Dumanska and Besa Shahini.
These meetings also strengthened networks already developed through other COST Actions. For me, this is one of the clearest examples of how synergies across COST Actions can generate longer-term research cooperation beyond individual projects.
